Harry Edward Styles, known in the world of music as Harry Styles, is a British singer and composer, recognized as being a part of the group One Direction. Based in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire England Styles is the son of Des Styles & Anne Cox. Harry Styles went to the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, along with three of his classmates, created a band band called White Eskimo. After winning the Battle of Bands 2009 thanks to their outstanding performance, the band also took part in 2010. Although he has always been fascinated by music, he was also interested in becoming an attorney or an physiotherapist. In order to provide for the family he took a short time working part-time at a baker's shop. The year was 2010. Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he sang Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. It was for this reason the band split up. Nicole Scherzinger was the judge that suggested Harry Styles to be part the group that would later be called One Direction, along with Liam Payne Zayn malik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell was the sponsor of this group, which began in the year 2010. They sang Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Be Sucky Without You and Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart in the competition, which made them one of the top contenders for winning the contest. But they finished in third place just behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles, his group and Cowell did not win the competition. However Cowell provided Harry Styles a 2 million pounds contract with Syco.
